I can help your team develop their skills and knowledge in a broad range of areas. Some example topics are listed below:

  • Using Makaton signs and visuals

  • Early communication development

  • How to run language enrichment groups

  • Developing your adult-child interaction skills

  • Creating an optimal communication environment

  • Understanding bilingualism and language development

  • Identifying children with speech, language and communication needs

In the first instance, I like to meet with you in person to formulate a training plan which is tailored to your requirements. I can plan for short ‘twilight’ sessions to whole-day training sessions and anything in between. I can be flexible with timings and staff numbers. Follow-up sessions are an important part of your training package to facilitate the maintenance of new ideas and strategies.

I support parents and carers by offering sessions on a broad range of topics. Some example topics are listed below:

  • Top Tips for Talking

  • Building language at story time

  • Building language at play time

  • Using signs to support your child’s language

  • Understanding speech and language development

  • Question and answer (Q&A) session

Parent and carer sessions can range from one-off practical workshops to a series of talks on different topics. In the first instance, I like to meet with the client to formulate a training plan which is tailored to their requirements. I am experienced in running sessions both informally e.g. at school coffee mornings, and formally e.g. as part of an INSET day.

I am proud to have created ‘Talk with Tasha’ early communication groups for children aged up to three-years-old and their parents. These previously took place at a Mothercare store and they now run in the comfort of parents’ homes. I provide top tips and helpful strategies at each session that can be carried out during the week at home.
